Het beeldt echter duidelijk de Watersnoodramp uit, die acht jaar na het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog plaatsvond en waarbij 1835 mensen omkwamen. The above picture shows the top part of the painting. The complete painting is shown on the right and was never finished. Its dimensions are 60 x 80 cm and it has no title, nor a date. However, it obviously portrays the disastrous flood which hit the southwestern part of the Netherlands eight years after the end of the Second World War and which killed 1835 people.
